The HOTTEST color for 2009 is dictated from the Pantone Color Industry, and we quote: CARLSTADT, N.J., Dec. 3, 2008 - Pantone, an X-Rite company (NASDAQ: XRIT), and the global authority on color and provider of professional color standards for the design industries, today announced PANTONE® 14-0848 Mimosa, a warm, engaging yellow, as the color of the year for 2009. In a time of economic uncertainty and political change, optimism is paramount and no other color expresses hope and reassurance more than yellow.
"The color yellow exemplifies the warmth and nurturing quality of the sun, properties we as humans are naturally drawn to for reassurance," explains Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. "Mimosa also speaks to enlightenment, as it is a hue that sparks imagination and innovation."

DECORATING TRENDS
Animal prints come and go, but will debut stronger than ever for 2009 mainly with Giraffe. We have shown this by adding two designer accent chairs to the showroom and Marge Carson dining room chairs in a fawn and creme color. They are OUTSTANDING!!!
The "HOLLYWOOD" glamour look with an eclectic twist is popular for '2009. This style is: glamorous, classy and elegant; It is a mix of styles like Neo-Classic, Asian, Baroque and Art Deco; sumptuous and luxury fabrics, shimmering finishes, mirrored furniture, chinoiserie, bamboo and lacquered furniture; bold color; clean lines and beautiful symmetry is very strong. We will be showing a lot of this, starting with an OLY bed in white lacquer and a coordinating mirror. The dresser for this is an eclectic piece featuring antique mirrors that opens and becomes a writing desk with cubicles for letters, etc. The wall is wallpapered with a blush, creme and chartreuse "romantic design" combined with a modern wide bold striped window treatment in blush, creme and chartreuse flowing over an Oly daybed in blush linen.
The featured colors coming now are charcoals and silvers mixed with taupes, all shades of purples, and magentas. Lauren has set up a bed featuring luscious magenta and white.
